The next chief minister of Delhi, along with the council of ministers, is likely to take oath at the Ramlila Maidan on February 20, party sources said on Monday.

Citing the BJP sources, PTI reported that the ceremony is expected to be held at around 4.30 PM and is likely to be attended by top BJP leaders, including chief ministers from the party-ruled states.

After days of speculations over the next CM face of Delhi, the final decision is expected to be taken at a BJP legislative party meeting on Wednesday. Initially, the meeting was scheduled to take place on Monday.

The party sources told PTI that the preparations are underway for the mega event at the Ramlila Maidan with its boundary walls getting a fresh coat of paint and workers cleaning the sprawling ground, and the pavements and roads around it. Ramlila Maidan can accommodate accommodate around 30,000 people.

"The layout of the tents, including a VIP block for dignitaries, is being finalised. Around one lakh people are expected to be inside and outside the venue to celebrate the BJP's victory in Delhi after 26 years," a source told PTI.

The names of the frontrunners for the chief minister's post include Parvesh Verma, who defeated Kejriwal from the New Delhi seat, and former Delhi BJP presidents Vijender Gupta and Satish Upadhyay.

Pawan Sharma, Ashish Sood, Rekha Gupta, and Shikha Rai, among others, are also the contenders for the chief minister's post. The names of Ravinder Indraj Singh, the MLA from the Bawana (SC) seat and Kailash Gangwal, who won the Madipur (SC) seat for the BJP for the first time, were also among the contenders for the post.

According to a report by NDTV, chief ministers and deputy chief ministers of 20 states are likely to attend the mega event besides BJP leaders and workers from other states who campaigned in the Delhi elections. Besides politicians, more than fifty film stars and industrialists are also expected to attend the event.

The event is also likely to see the presence of spiritual leaders like Baba Ramdev, Swami Chidananda, Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Shastri and others, as per the report.

Moreover7xm, the farmers of Delhi, beneficiaries of central government schemes including Laadli sisters will also be invited to the ceremony.
